Sally POS was born out of frustration in Limassol, Cyprus. We're a young, hands-on team building the point of sale we always wished restaurants had: fast, cloud-based, and learnable in an afternoon.

Our story

Born out of frustration.

Sally POS started in Limassol, Cyprus, after a lot of time spent wrestling other people's tills.

  1. Where it started

    Scan, order, pay

    Two years before Sally POS, we built a scan-a-QR-code-to-order-and-pay app that sent orders and payments into other POS systems.

  2. The shock

    Legacy tills everywhere

    Connecting to the most common systems, we saw how slow and limited they were: servers in the back room, and every new waiter needing training.

  3. The decision

    Sally POS is born ✨

    So we took matters into our own hands and built the POS ourselves: cloud-based, intuitive from the first shift.

  4. 2023

    First venue live

    Sally POS took its first real orders in June 2023.

  5. Today

    300+ venues

    Restaurants, bars, clubs and pop-up events across Cyprus, South Africa and Australia run on Sally.

Self-taught Software Engineer

With almost 0 coding experience and no degree, right before COVID-19, he built Sally from scratch, from the app that was scan QR code to order and pay, to what evolved to the POS system that it is today. Today, talented developers from all around the world are currently building Sally POS features with Anatoly.

From Dentistry to Software

Christos studied dentistry in Prague for more than 4 years but quickly realised that his passion was in technology and business. He dropped out of dentistry and pursued Sally full-time, and has opened many other businesses since.

Founding engineer since January 2023, and the hands behind much of the Back Office.

Building the Back Office

Diamond joined in early 2023 and has built a huge share of the Back Office since. He's behind Sally's reporting, from the Today report and automated email reports to Trading Rhythm and the Menu Matrix, plus cash floats, bulk menu and item imports, activity logs and the quick search that makes the Back Office fast to get around.
